Announced in spring 2025, EPB Quantum Center℠ will be the nation’s first quantum technology facility to provide commercial access to both quantum computing and networking.
EPB originally launched EPB Quantum Network℠ in 2023, America’s first industry-led,
commercially available quantum network designed for running equipment and applications
in an established fiber optic environment. Now, through a partnership with leading
quantum computing company IonQ, EPB will add a quantum computer to its existing quantum
technology infrastructure to develop a comprehensive resource for quantum application
development, expected to open in early 2026.
Today, EPB Quantum Network is available to both public and private sectors to be
configured for running existing applications, testing new quantum technologies or
validating equipment performance. EPB Quantum Network is designed to generate,
distribute and measure qubits across an established fiber optic network connecting
businesses, entrepreneurs, researchers, government and universities to the quantum future.
