EPB’s membership in the Southeastern Quantum Collaborative (SQC) reflects Chattanooga’s growing role as a center for advanced technology and innovation. Led by The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH), SQC brings together organizations from academia, industry and government to strengthen regional leadership in quantum information science, including our close partners the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, IonQ and Vanderbilt University. SQC also participates in activities to develop a quantum-ready workforce and position the Southeast as a global hub for quantum innovation, supporting economic growth, national security and next-generation technology development.

EPB and IonQ recognized eight participants in the EPB Quantum Fellows program for meeting the program's first requirements. The fellowship provides valuable training and real-world experience, equipping participants to develop quantum solutions that benefit EPB customers and our community. Chattanooga has been selected to host Quantum, Computing, Mathematics, and Physics Camp (QCaMP), a professional learning program developed by scientists from Sandia and Lawrence Berkeley National Labs. Supported by NSF, the week-long program supports educators by building a foundational understanding of quantum science and exploring classroom-ready connections to math, science, and problem-solving.
