EPB Quantum Network

How Using the EPB Quantum Network Works

  • 1
First, you’ll work with your dedicated EPB Quantum Team to understand your needs and identify a package that will work best for you.
  • 2
Users who meet the following criteria are likely to have the best experience with EPB Quantum Network, and we’ll discuss these topics with you prior to selecting a package or signing a contract:
    • Organizations with technologies that are compatible with photonic qubits or those that aim to solve transduction challenges.
    • Organizations with primary ownership based in the U.S. or in a country that is in good standing with the U.S. Department of Commerce.
    • Organizations with access to technical resources such as optical engineers, quantum physicists and/or computer scientists.
  • 3
Once the design is finalized, Strategic Partnerships will walk you through details, including features, costs and service agreement before moving forward.

Three different options are available for physically connecting to EPB Quantum Network.

quantum workspace

Private Short-Term Quantum Node at EPB Quantum Network Headquarters

EPB offers secure, private workspaces equipped with what you’d expect in a modern office environment and are available for rent on a temporary basis for EPB Quantum Network subscribers.

Dedicated Long-Term Quantum Node in Pre-Wired Space

Select office spaces in close proximity to EPB Quantum Network headquarters have been pre-wired with fiber optics and are available for a longer-term lease.

Other Dedicated Long-Term Quantum Node Space

If you want to source your own space, we will work with you to make sure it is within an acceptable distance (within 5 km of an established Quantum Data Center) and provide a cost estimate and proposed timeline for outfitting the space with appropriate fiber optic connectivity and equipment for accessing EPB Quantum Network.

EPB Quantum Network Onboarding

Before you get started using EPB Quantum Network, we’ll conduct a full onboarding session for each of your team members who will be accessing the network. Onboarding includes:

  • Providing an overview of amenities in the physical space you’ll be using.
  • Accessing your preferred repository for time tagging or other reporting data.
  • Printing physical space access badges for each of your authorized team members.
  • Introducing you to your technical team and providing contact information for troubleshooting or questions.
  • Reviewing acceptable use policies for both the physical space and EPB Quantum Network.
  • Demonstrating how to connect your equipment to the Quantum Network Interface Console (QNIC).

Using the network

Credentialed Security

To protect everyone’s work, we require a state or federal-issued photo ID for everyone who will have access to the network and/or physical space at EPB Quantum Network headquarters.

Scheduling

Your dedicated EPB Quantum Team will help scheduling your time and configuration on EPB Quantum Network. EPB Quantum Network is available for scheduling from 6 a.m to 12 a.m. Monday-Sunday.

Support

EPB Quantum Network is supported by quantum engineers and physicists 24/7. Your Business Development Account Manager will introduce you to your support team during your onboarding session.

EPB Quantum Network architecture features data centers that house common-use quantum equipment, which serve the needs of multiple clients located in private quantum nodes.
